Types of Adjectives

Comparative Degree is used to compare only two things
Superlative degree is used to compare more than two things or a set of things.

Now answer a question….What will be the Comparative & Superlative degree for Beautiful?
Is it Beautifuler&Beautifulest?
Have you heard these words ever?
.
No …..So what will be the correct answer?
Not able to guess ..
Let me tell you. The correct answer is More Beautiful & Most Beautiful.
There are many such words in which we prefix More / Most in the Comparative/ Superlative degree respectively.
What about the adjective ‘Good’? Will we use ‘gooder’ or ‘more good’ for the comparative and ‘most good’ for the superlative degree? The answer is that we use ‘better’ for the comparative and ‘best’ for the superlative degree. Simillarly, for the adjective, ‘bad’, we use ‘worse’ for the comparative degree and ‘worst’ for the superlative degree.
