Loose and Lose- Loose is used as an adjective while lose is used as a verb.

Who and Whom- ‘who’ is used in place of the object of the sentence and ‘whom’ is used in place of the subject of the sentence.

We have to keep in mind these differences whenever we refer these words. For a more descriptive turorial on these differences you may visit Englishleap's Common mistakes in English.

Advantages of Universities

A degree from a university means many thing to many different people. Only you can define the importance of a degree such as this to you and only you can determine whether or not now is the time for you to pursue a university degree. If you are unsure about how advantageous a university degree could be to your life let's look at some of the advantages to a university education in relationship to a community college education.

Money. The first obvious advantage of a university education would be in future earning potential. A four-year degree trumps a two-year degree almost every time. There would have to be exceptional circumstances for someone with a two-year degree to earn more over the course of a lifetime than someone with a four-year degree in the same exact field. While a degree does not guarantee employability, it does improve the odds as well as the income potential that is associated with the field you are entering into. If you have a two-year degree the decision to continue your educational pursuits can be a tough one but it is well worth the effort in the end.

Housing. This is another distinct advantage that universities offer over community colleges. In fact, many universities are now offering housing opportunities to students with families in addition to those students who have no families. Colleges and universities are offering all kinds of value when it comes to housing and meal plans. A great deal of the college experience is missed when you do not live on campus. For this particular reason students wishing to enjoy the experience that dorm life provides often consider universities over community colleges.

Diversity. This is another key component that is often missing at the community college level. International students find no real price breaks between universities and community colleges so they tend to opt for the housing and cultural atmosphere that universities present rather than going with the limiting educational, residential, and cultural experience offered by many community colleges. You will find students of different races, religions, cultures, and nations on the university level-far more than will typically be seen in a community college unless you are attending community college in a very culturally diverse city such as New York.

Culture. This is something that is often lacking on the community college level, as they are largely commuter campuses. You will not see quite the opportunity to experience art, music, the theater, and other wonderful experiences that universities pride themselves in offering to their students. There is nothing quite like the cultural offerings of most large universities and if you get the opportunity I hope you will take the time to stop and experience some of the wonderful things that being in a university community present you with an opportunity to experience.

Research opportunities. On a university level you will have the opportunity to participate in research projects with certain professors if your prove yourself worthy and express an interest. This is something that isn't as likely on the community college level as most professors in a community college are dedicated to teaching rather than research. You will find that the experience of working on a large-scale research project is unlike anything you are likely to experience again if you ever get the chance.

Confidence. There is nothing quite like a college degree from a university to help you become a more confident person both personally and professionally. This is something that really can't be achieved on the community college level but can only be experienced by getting a degree from a university. If you lack confidence when dealing with others or in your career, I hope that you will find that your university education is just the thing to help you feel more confidence on all levels of your life.

Are you ready for Online education?

We live in the information age. We are so accustomed to information at the speed of light that the prospect of not having immediate access to countless facts and figures with the simple click of a few buttons for many of us is simply disconcerting. For this reason, it only makes sense that there are many people across the nation and around the world who are embracing the idea of learning and educational opportunities with every ounce of enthusiasm that if they can muster.

At the same time there are an equal number of people around the world who are desperately trying to cling to traditional methods of dealing with things. In fact, some people actually still play solitaire with a deck of cards. For those who believe that the information age has left them to some extent, the chances are pretty good that online learning may not be the best option available to you.

Below you will find some questions that can help you narrow down whether or not you would really benefit from taking some of the many online courses that are offered to the current information age learning.

1) Are you disciplined? This may seem a matter as trivial because we would all like to think that we are disciplined to some extent. The problem is that when you are in the driver's seat for your own education you need to have a little over a low degree of discipline. You must be able to meet deadlines, take tests, and stand accountable for learning is the information you need to learn to pass the course. There is no one to blame but yourself if you can not do well in your online course and some people just do not be in the driver's seat when it comes to motivating and stimulating themselves and their learning practices.
2) How do you learn best? We all have different methods of learning for which we retain information better than others. Online courses are reading intensive. If you have difficulty in retaining the information you read, you may need to find another method of learning or to seek solutions with the help of the course instructor before progressing in a learning environment on-line.
3) Do you have a true desire to succeed? The answer to this question is very important to determine whether online learning is in your best interest. There are many paths you can take to achieve education and the degree you want. This is not the way to the masses, at least not yet. This type of learning, more than any other is easy to give up through apathy. If you are determined to do homework, study notes, and really learn the material presented to you then you really do not need to waste your time or time of the instructor constantly excuses . Online courses are largely self-training, but you have a limited amount of time to learn the material before needing to move. The teacher is responsible to provide the information and material, but you are responsible for everything that happens from this moment. Are you ready for this responsibility?

Whether you are a first time college student or a professional who is returning to school after a long absence online learning can open new doors of opportunity for you to enjoy learning. You must be willing to walk through those doors and take the information presented to you But to be successful. My sincere hope is that everyone reading this will consider carefully whether or not the lack of structure that many online courses provided will be conducive to your learning and special needs education before taking the plunge .

The need for education

Education is basic fundamental and an important ingredient required for development of any society. Education of a person improves his social status, his mental status, his knowledge, and his abilities to develop his skills to face practical lie situations. Education is the only weapon with which one can kill ignorance and fight with unawareness. An educated person can perceive things in a better way because he ahs a broad mind with which he can see the things differently. He has a broadened mind with which he is able to understand all the faces of any problem and then he will be able to handle the situation in a better way.

Status of education is high in developed countries but if we talk about developing countries the scene is just opposite. The literacy rate in developing countries like India is very low. Though continuous efforts are being made by the government to achieve the higher literacy rate but still the target is far to achieve and it will take years to achieve the targets that are being set by the UNESCO and the government of these countries.

But why is this so? Why the literacy rate is not up to desired mark despite of continuous efforts? What are the major barriers which prevent spread of education? The reasons can be best described as:
Lack of Education and Infrastructure facilities which prevent the literacy rate from being reaching up to desired mark, poverty in a major segment of population which prevents the parents from sending their children to schools, Gender inequality that means female are not given the same preference as the male which should not be and the traditional caste practices which also plays a major role in preventing the education to reach the light of education to reach all the doors.

If people from developing countries are able to overcome these barriers the education level will definitely rise in these developing countries.
