Use of Preposition

Prepositions can work as a:-

Modifier to a verb
Modifier to a noun
Complement of a noun
Complement of another preposition etc.

Examples:-

The book is on the table.
The rat is in the hole.
Ferry me across the river.
The bird is sitting on the roof.
The decision went in favor of the batsmen.
He lives in Delhi.
The store is located at the corner.
Joseph is in the building.
The mat is on the floor.
Zoo is on the left.
He is walking towards the river.
The lecture hall is to your right.
